About The Artist
Ted Polomis is a realist painter working in the medium of oils. He attended The Rhode Island School of Design and was elected to the European Honors Program in Rome, Italy, where he spent his junior year. He visited every museum and collection he could, not only in Italy, but thirteen other countries as well, so that he could study the works of the Great Masters. He graduated in 1985 with a BFA.
Ted currently paints from his home studio in Marshfield Hills, Massachusetts. Working exclusively in oils, he creates paintings with a sophisticated sense of balance and depth. He is captivated by the interplay between objects and their environment, and the quiet harmony that results from balancing form, color, light and shadow. His works have received numerous awards, and have been featured in many publications including American Art Collector, International Artist and The Artist's Magazine.
"I always paint objects that I find captivating in some way, and worthy
of close, repeated inspection.
I prefer simple balanced setups that highlight my subjects while, at the
same time, create a meditative and calming scene. My hope is that the collector will be as engaged by my paintings as I am with my subjects."
